  8. The overall revision is 1.02.  This is a maintenance release, fixing some
  9. serious problems in backing up and restoring data.  There are no new
  10. features.  Registered users are still entitled to the next major
  11. release at no cost.

  13. DSWTSR.EXE = Version 1.2
  14.  
  15.     Level    Moderate
  16.     Fixes     problem where the TSR could not correctly restore large
  17.         sweep files which spread across > 1 floppy.

  19.     Effect    The new TSR works correctly.

  21. DSWEEP.EXE = Version 1.02

  23.     Level    Severe
  24.     Fixes     Problem when backing up large files which did not fit
  25.         entirely on a single floppy.  Sometimes the data would
  26.         be truncated.

  28.     Effect    There is no remedy if data is truncated on the floppy.
  29.         This only happens when files are spread across floppies.

  31.     Level    Moderate
  32.     Fixes    Problem when doing a manual restore of a file that crossed
  33.         a floppy onto another.  The second floppy did not correctly
  34.         load.

  36.     Effect    The new version automatically fixes this.

  39.     Fixes    Problem of incorrectly tagging files that spread across
  40.         more than one floppy.  This results in the automatic
  41.         restore feature being broken.

  43.     Effect    Previously swept files will not manually restore but
  44.         a manual restore via the Load and Restore mechanism will
  45.         still work.

  47. Installation
  48.  
  49.         To install this program, insert this floppy into either the
  50.         A: or B: drive.  From Windows, in the Program Manager, run 
  51.         the SETUP.EXE program on the installation floppy.  To do this
  52.         pull down the File menu and select Run from that menu.  In the
  53.         dialog box, fill in A:SETUP or B:SETUP, depending on which 
  54.         drive the floppy is inserted into.

  56. Compatibility
  57.  
  58.         PCTools' DiskFix program is incompatible with DiskSweep.  
  59.         DiskFix will mistakenly detect corrupted directory structures
  60.         and ERASE the entire hard disk.  Do not run DiskFix with 
  61.         DiskSweep installed.

  63.         On some machines, the use of FASTOPEN will cause Windows to
  64.         freeze when DiskSweep is also running.  If you see this
  65.         happening, stop using FASTOPEN.

  67.         There are no other known incompatibilities at this time.
